Evanston Keeps Growing

There are several reasons why this popular northwest Calgary district has grown so rapidly.

Located in the Symons Valley area, it features both single and multi-family home options, all with easy access due to the close proximity to Stoney, Shaganappi and Sarcee Trails.

Established in 2003

Evanston is quite a young community and was built to promote the notion of “good neighbours and family values.” The design and architecture in the community was created to enhance and encourage this ideal. That’s why you’ll find open spaces and common areas abound in this well-planned community.

Serving Evanston along with the communities of Kincora, Sage Hill, Nolan Hill and Sherwood, many restaurants, many big box stores and retail shops have opened creating a vibrant and convenient commercial sector.

The 2014 city of Calgary census shows that the population of Evanston is 10,030. This is up from the 2011 census which showed a population of 5,889.

The majority of Evanston homes are single family with the median age being 31 and split evenly male/female. The average number of residents per home is 3.2.

School Openings

With make-up of Evanston residents and the consistent growth, it is fitting that two brand new state-of-the-art schools have been opened recently.

Kenneth D. Taylor School located on 30 Evanscove Circle NW opened this fall for Kindergarten to grade 3 students with a capacity of 600 students.

Additionally, Our Lady of Grace School opened September 6th for Kindergarten to grade 9 At 736 Evanston Drive NW, with a capacity of 900 students.
